Dyslexia is a neurological condition, which in many cases has genetic causes.

A child, whose attainment is consistently below his or her ability, particularly in literacy and sometimes numeracy, may have undiagnosed dyslexic tendencies and will certainly benefit from learning support.

In addition to under-achievement at school, dyslexic tendencies can manifest themselves in a range of characteristics which may include many of the following:
  • an inefficient short term memory
  • problematic spelling
  • inaccurate reading and writing
  • scruffy presentation of work
  • illegible handwriting
  • low self-esteem or extreme arrogance
  • inappropriate behaviour
  • personal disorganisation

Computerised screening for dyslexia takes about one and a half hours and is followed by a comprehensive analysis and report with recommendations. The report will be with you within a week of the screening.

The screening software I use is recognised by the British Psychological Society and the British Dyslexia Association.
